My fans always ask me how I manage to pack everything I need for my trips in a small backpack. So before I tell you more about Italy I'll show you what I normally bring with me. I prefer to travel light so that I don't have to pay for luggage.
Let's take a look at the contents of my backpack.
- Numero uno is my backpack. It's yellow because yellow is my favourite colour.
- Julius. But only if he behaves.
- A deck of cards in case we get bored.
- A shopping bag so that I have somewhere to put all the local sweets I buy.
- A straw hat for Julius so he doesn't get a sun stroke.
- A pair of flip-flops if we're going to the beach.
- An alarm clock (you don't want to miss your flight/train/bus or even worse breakfast...)
- Dictionaries. To look up important words like ice cream and pancakes.
- Julius can be a real pain in the ass when he's tired or bored so I always bring a notebook and some pencils to keep him occupied. It's also useful for writing a travel diary.
PS. Don't worry in the next post I'll tell you more about Italy.
