I want to tell you about our recent trip to Italy.

To get to Italy we first travelled to Riga in Latvia and spent a day there. The city was completely packed with people in Latvian folk dresses. They were celebrating a hundred years since the first Latvian independence.

We stayed at a cheap but relatively nice hotel near the centre. We had to get up early the following morning to get to the airport, so we went to bed early, but just as we had gone to bed there was a firealarm! Luckily it turned out to be a false alarm.

The next morning when were going to the airport it was 15 °C and raining cats and dogs. And the bus we were supposed to take to the airport never showed up. We had to wait for the next one in the rain. No wonder we were really looking forward to getting to sunny Italy.
